Biography

Rachel Yarrington was born on 10 Aug 1707 in Preston, New London, Connecticut Colony.

Rachel Yarrington, the second youngest child of Peter Yarrington and Abiah (Woodward) Yarrington , was bapt. Aug. 10, 1707 at Preston, Conn. Her parents had been residing at Beverly in Essex County, Mass. where the seven oldest children of the family were baptized. The seventh child, Rachel's next oldest brother Ezekiel, was baptized at Beverly, Mass. on Mar. 25, 1705.

Rachel married Amos Richardson (1681 - ). Their daughter was Lois (Richardson) Porter (1741 - 1766).

In circa 1724, probably at Preston, Conn., Rachel m. Amos Richardson, the younger s. of Jonathan Richardson, Sr. and Ann Edwards, b. Dec. 1, 1699 ? at Stonington, Conn. He was bapt. June 23, 1700 at the Hartford, Conn. 1st Chh., his maternal grandfather's church. Amos d. testate at Coventry, Conn. betw. Sept. 18, 1775, the date of his will, and Nov. 25, 1779 when the inventory of his estate was taken. Rachel is not mentioned in her husband's will and obviously died before her husband. They had fourteen children, who are:

  2. Lemuel Richardson (1726 - 1777)
  3. Capt. Amos Richardson III (1728 - 1802)
  4. Rachel Richardson (1729 - 1807)
  5. Jonathon Richardson (1731 - 1799)
  6. Stephen Richardson (1732 - 1809)
  7. Anne (Richardson) Brigham (~1734 - 1813)
  8. Esther (Richardson) Scripture (1736 - 1814)
  9. Abigail Richardson (1739 - 1813)
  10. Justus Richardson (1743 - 1813)
  11. Abial (Richardson) Robertson (1749 - 1814)
  12. Eunice (Richardson) Jewett (1750 - 1793).

Rachel died on 7 Aug 1775 in Coventry, Windham aged 67.

By 1906 no gravestones for Rachel or husband Amos were known to exist.
