Biography
Louisa "Laura" Frances Yates was born June 7, 1846, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia.[1] She was the daughter of Daniel Yates and Sarah Doss (1813-1860).[2]
She married Roland Johnson Ferguson (1832-1907) on November 15, 1866 in Roanoke County, Virginia.[2] They had 7 known children.

- Virginia Alice "Ally" Ferguson (1872-1923)[4][6]

- Jehu Isaiah Ferguson (1882-1940)[4]
They made their home in Cave Spring, Roanoke county, Virginia, where in 1870, Roland was a Farmer and Louisa keep the home and their first 2 children, Milton-2 and baby John, 11 months old. They had a 16 year old farm hand in the home also.[8]
By 1880, Gale-8, Virginia-7, Isaiah-5 and Brittle-2, and been born and were in the home along with Them, Milton-12 and John now 10.[4]
The remained in Cave Spring.[9]
She passed away on November 26, 1905, at the age of 59, in Roanoke County Virginia, and was buried in the Fair View Cemetery.[1]
