Percy started on the home farm at Renton, the moved with his father and brother to Townsend Twp. (north half, Lot 1, Conc. 10) in 1901. For a time he farmed a lot across the road (Lot 1, Conc. 10, Windham Twp.), which his brother took over after Percy's marriage to Minnie Pearl Kellam in 1907.
Percy and Minnie returned to his home farm. He owned 100 acres and had another 75 acres in Windham (Lot 1, Conc. 9; present location of Picard Peanut plant). It was a general farming operation, growing oats, wheat, sweet corn, tomatoes, potatoes, and strawberries. He also had a 30 cow dairy herd, producing milk for Silverwoods Dairy in Brantford. This required a substantial barn with two silos.
He was much respected in the community; served on Public School Board; worked for Liberal Party; member the Odd Fellows and Foresters.
Died in his home in Townsend; buried in Oakwood Cemetery.
