Margaret and Caleb Bannister Winget were married 1 February 1846 in Genesee County, Michigan.[2] They were the parents of four children: Thomas J (1847), Alace (1848), Mary(1850) and Wallace (1851).
In 1860, the family lived in Fenton Township, Genesee, Michigan where Caleb was a farmer. There were four children in the household: Alace, Mary, Thomas and Wallace.[3]
Caleb enlisted in Co. G of the 8th Michigan Infantry 23 February 1864. He was wounded at Cold Harbor, Virginia and died of his wounds 5 July 1864.[4]
Margaret applied for a widow's pension 25 August 1864.[5]
At the time of the 1870 United States Census, Margaret was head of a household that included her children Thomas, Mary and Wallace. They were living in Fenton Township.[6]
Margaret died 19 February 1871 in Genesee County, Michigan.[1] She is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Linden, Genesee, Michigan.
