Elizabeth's husband supported the Patriot cause during the Revolutionary War and they made their home in the Geissenburg settlement near Ft. Plain, New York. Elizabeth, together with her children Christina and Jacob, were captured by Indians on August 2, 1780 near Fort Plain, and taken captive to Canada where they were held for about eighteen months.[1] But see also Elizabeth wife of Joseph Conrad House, as Sylvia Novak ascribes the events and children to her.[2]
Elizabeth is buried in Ft. Plain Reformed Church Cemetery, Ft. Plain, New York.
