Jesse was first taxed for personal property in 1788. He was the only white male over 21, was living in the North District of Halifax County (the commissioner was Thomas H Wooding), and had 2 horses. [1]
Married Temperance Brown in 1785. (If he was 21, his birth date would be about 1764.) [2] Married, second, Marthaa Weatherford in 1810.[3]
Jesse wrote his will on May 2, 1837, and it was proved January 22, 1838. [4]
