Biography

Jan was Knight in 1343, lord of Egmond and IJsselsetin, Zevenhuizen and Zegwaard and Baljuw of Kennemerland from 1353 to 1354. He was stadhouder of Holland in 1358, but this post was taken in 1359. He was Baljuw of Kennemerland and West-Friesland in 1363. He passed away in dec 28, 1368 in IJsselstein.

He married Guyote van AMSTEL before March 31, 1331 in IJsselstein. They had the following children:

  1. Beatrijs van Egmond married Gijsbert van Vianen
  2. Bartha (Baerte) van Egmond married Gerad I van Culemborg
  3. Arend van Egmond was next lord of IJsselstein
  4. Catharina van Egmond married Bartholomeus van Raephorst

  7. Antonia van Egmond
