Biography

Robert Frances aka Bobbie Alexander was born on 28 January 1900 on the family farm in Calhoun Township, Columbia County, Arkansas. She was the younger daughter of John Graham Alexander and Margaret Ida aka Maggie Pickering Alexander. [1] [2]

For the next 20 years Bobbie lived with her parents and a dwindling number of siblings on the farm in Calhoun Township. [3] [4]

Bobbie's mother died in 1924 leaving Bobbie as the remaining adult in the household to care for her father. As of the 1930 census Bobbie's widowed sister and niece had moved back home to live with Bobbie and their father. [5]

Ida Harwell - daughter age 40 - born AR
Pansy C. Harwell - granddaughter age 10 - born AR
Research Note: Ida Harwell was Bobbie's sister Ida Lee who had married William Harwell. William had died 1926.

As of the 1940 census Bobbie now age 40 and still single continued to live with and care for her 76 year old father on the family farm in Calhoun Township. [6]

Bobbie's [Alexander-13611| father]] died on 14 September 1944, and was buried in the Village Cemetery along side her mother who had been buried there some 20 years prior.

It was not determined where or how Bobbie lived for the next 45 years of her life, but possibly having lived at home and carried for her father until age 44 she was content to live without a significant other in her life. She may have continued to live on the family farm, but likely moved at some point to Magnolia. Bobbie died on 28 Sep 1989 and was buried near her parents in the Village Cemetery, Village, Columbia County, Arkansas. [1]
