FATHER’S MIRAGE

I am a butterfly Soaring through the sky, Multifarious streamline colors Susuerating by.

I am my father's dream Left so untied, Fate clipped his silken wings: Caterpillars cannot fly.

I am his symbol of hope Left so untried, Emerging from silken strings His last butterfly.

Written by Loretta Black 8-5-88 Rewritten 11-7-17;A poem written for my step father.

*I met the descendant of the Great,Great,Great,Great....Grandfather (Uncertain) dolphin in the Gulf Of Mexico that saved my father’s life. Please see “A Letter to Back Home”, From Ivan (During The Battle of Okinawa (1945). Behind the battle front lines.

I was on a low lying boat when to my surprise a dolphin jumped over the edge of the boat where I was. I quickly ducked and was underneath the dolphin just inches away from it’s massive body. I could feel the water dripping on me. Luckily the dolphin made it over the boat. It proceeded to roll over on it’s back and looked at me while making sounds. Staring at me with beautiful eyes. As suddenly as it appeared the dolphin rolled over and with lowered eyes left. As it was leaving I could see the image of two other dolphins underwater. The two dolphins on the outside jumped out of the water together while the one in the center waited for a few seconds. Then it jumped in the center of the other two dolphins as high as it possibly could. Reaching toward the sky in a beautiful cascade This created a look of two lower dolphins on the outside and one higher in the middle. What a beautiful sight to behold. While in the Golf Of Mexico I was fishing for the Blue Marlin. Instead I caught a great white shark (about 10 feet long). When you hear the wiz of your line and at the other end there is a shark, you really do not want to hear the line (or wizing sound ) stop. Instead someone aboard helped me cut the line before the line reached its end. I had to let the shark go for various obvious reasons one being the shark was half the size of the boat!

Loretta, please do not add Elizabeth Bragg or Susanna anymore to this particular Edward Bolling. The sources are there that he did not marry nor had children. Your source of the "Blue Bollings" of an Edward Bolling's marriage must be one of the "Blue Bollings" which is a different group Bollings as cited in the Shawnee Heritage book. Also the Pocohontas Association does not recognize the "Blue Bollings" in their resources. I know this is hard for you and maybe more research will land where your Bollings come from )-:.

There is an excellent theory by the Arrington researcher that may help which was discussed in G2G. I recommend that we contact the Native American project leaders to solve this issue. Are you a member of the project?

Hi Loretta, Thanks for any imput you can find for those profiles. You are correct that most Virginians have trouble doing their genealogy because so many records are gone )-;

I am one of those people that love the Shawnee Heritage book (it's on my bookcase from my Mom's collection). But after studying genealogy in school, I found it's a bit hard to use Don's book as a source anymore. Especially since Bill Deyo, the Virginian Tribal Historian, said that it was not reliable. Bill has actually been in touch with some of our WikiTree Native American folks a few years ago when we started up that project. Here's Bill's works ( he is a really neat researcher): http://worldcat.org/identities/lccn-n2002037745/

Shawnee Heritage book can be an secondary "alernate source",

I see that you've marked a number of your ancestors' parental relationships 'confirmed with DNA'. There's one more step you need to do for each of those--put a statement on the profile of each of those people explaining how you used DNA to confirm those relationships. Here is a page that explains how to do that: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/DNA_Confirmation

I can see that you've added some general statements to some of the profiles, but you haven't included the information about how the two test takers are related and how much DNA they share. That link shows you the expected format of your statements. Please let me know if I can help you with the wording of your statements. Thanks!
