The Baltic-German nobility (Deutschbalten Adels) were the ruling class of the territories of Estland, Livland, and Kurland, broadly equivalent to modern Estonia, Latvia, and parts of Lithuania, from the later medieval period until the end of World War I. They were organised into knighthoods (Ritterschaften), political organisations which contained the matriculated members of noble families within each territory.
