Manitoba is a province of Canada, located on the Canadian prairies. It is bordered on the west by Saskatchewan, on the north by Nunavut, on the east by Ontario, and on the south by the US states of North Dakota and Minnesota. The capital and largest city is Winnipeg.

Manitoba became a province of Canada in 1870. It was then a square one-eighteenth of its current size. It grew progressively, reaching its current size in 1912.
