Hi Hasani,

I sent you a private massage regarding your interested in the US_Black_Heritage_Project, It would have appeared as an email from WikiTree with the subject heading US Black Heritage Project. I am following up as I haven't heard from you. Did you receive my message? If not, I can resend it. Denise

I'm still here, Debi. I'm re-learning the ropes. So please have patience...

Hi Hasani,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This is a courtesy email to share the After Adopting Orphans FAQ which explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

The Profile Improvements Project has a program to help you learn how to create biographies that honor your ancestors, including links to the sources you found at Ancestry and FamilySearch. If you are interested, you can find out more about that on the Profile Improvements Project (PIP) Voyage page.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources; find or merge duplicates; clean up GEDCOM or merged biographies; or interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Hi Hasani,

I'm glad to know that you are feeling well enough to start working on your tree again. Can you give me an example of a duplicate that you know about? They can happen in several ways and my answer would depend on determining that.

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As we always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Your gedcom upload is adding additional headings to profiles. In addition the links do not work. They give an error report only

Hi Hasani,

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

You are currently importing a GEDCOM which contains pre-1700 ancestors. The source you are providing has a broken link. I was able to find some of your Ancestry profiles but they do not have sources which meet the WikiTree criteria for Sources.

Please stop and review the guidelines before adding or updating any more pre-1700 profiles. Then find a project which fits your research focus and work with them.

Hi Hasani,

Would you please take a look at the Ancestry source that you're adding to so many profiles from your gedcom. Try clicking on the link. It goes to an error page. Please don't continue to add it to existing profiles. Thanks!

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. You appear to have several interests. Why don't you stop by the Project List (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects to see how you can participate? Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!
