Quite tragically it caused me to notice that his brother Thomas Jarvis-2188 was born in Gedney, Lincolnshire the same year,1865, as James died. This is in the immediate area his mother was born (just outside Boston). They had been in Anmer, Norfolk. I will check church records to see if James died in Anmer or Gedney. It would seem his mother may have gone back to her mother in Gedney for the birth of Thomas, my grandfather. Perhaps having just lost James. The family stayed in the Boston area until she died in 1870. Rob

I just ran across your profile, while checking gedmatches with another one, related to my Sheffield line. Her largest matching segment was only 5.4 cM.
But as I checked her other Sheffield ancestors, I ran across a link to your gedmatch. We share 18.8 cM. That's a fair amount.
Your tree is private, so I couldn't see our connection. Then, i recalled our Ancestry ThruLines match from your user name. We are 4th cousins. Our common ancestors are Adam Sheffield Jr and Sarah McCraney. My paper trail is really good to him. With Adam Jr's father (Adam Sr (married Priscilla Smith) - I have treed close to 200 Ancestry matches. That's a lot of matches. So it looks legit.
I would love to hear from you. I have a multi-family Facebook genealogy group with quite a handful of your cousins in it. I'll send you a private message with my email and my Ancestry tree url, so you can quickly find my match. Ha!, just remembered... you can go to my bio for all that, too. Hope to hear back! Thanks
Thank you for creating space pages with lists of slaves. This will be a wonderful help in connecting people to their ancestors. We recently launched our Heritage Exchange Program with a standardized way of creating profiles and pages. You can find links to those help pages here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Black_Heritage:_Heritage_Exchange_Portal
I've updated the categories on some of your space pages because we've updated many of the categories we'll be using for slavery. Thanks! Emma~~US Black Heritage Project
Very best regards, Amy
Sorry I was off Wikitree for a while. Did this get resolved?
