Biography

Hello, welcome to my profile. You are here probably to congratulate me on a good job I did on a profile somewhere, OR to scold me for flubbing something up. I have a 50/50 chance. :) I'm learning all things wikitree as fast as I can all the while using 6 other genealogy sites to find the slightest tidbit of information or lead.

My love for genealogy started about 20 years ago. My mother and I would sit for hours and go through old family photos, we would send out surveys to family members to get stories or other notable information. About that time she also started an Ancestry account and she took off from there. My mom and Aunt Roni would chat back and forth about new family discoveries and feverishly update their records.

Throughout the years I dabbled here and there, gave my mom family information of my then spouse or would help her search for something she was having a hard time with. When my mom passed in 2011, I went full steam ahead with her work. I was determined not to let all her hard work, sweat, blood, and sometimes tears go to waste. At some point would like to get as much of the information digitized and available to the public as possible. Since my mom wasn't very "tech savvy" she wasn't able to do that much.

I hope one day one of my children will take over my passion and continue on with the research as well.

Hello Karen,

During the winter, the Nordic Project performed check-ins, sent as a private message from your profile. You are one of those members who has not replied, and this is a last chance to get in touch and let us know if you like to continue as member in the Nordic Project.

Please answer this comment, and get in touch by sending my Co-Leader, Missy Berryann (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Berryann-1) a private message. If we have not heard from you within a month you will be removed from the Nordic google group and your badge will be removed.

If you have not received any check-in emails, you might want to check that your email address for WikiTree is one you actually still use.

Thank you!

T.L. Koehnline

Co-Leader, Nordic Project

Hi,

It’s Germany Project check-in time again! Please respond within the next 2 weeks and let me know if you’re still interested in participating with the Project. Remember, the only requirements for membership in the Germany Project are (1) that you work on at least one German profile every 6 months and (2) that you respond to this check-in.

Since you’re not working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams yet, please look at our main Project page for a full list and let me know which team you’d like to join.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. In your response, we welcome any feedback you may want to give on the project (what you like about it, what you’d like to see us do, what we could change, etc.)

If you ever have any questions, please ask. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi,

I'm just letting you know that I've added the profiles of two more children, Loretta Anna Koreis and Leo George Koreis to the family of Joseph Koreis and Caroline Hacker. Since you are the PM for their other children's profiles, would you like to take over these two as well?

Hello again! I posted a comment two weeks ago and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well! Do you want to remain in the Germany Project? If I don’t hear back from you by the end of November, I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, always welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes, Traci ~ Germany Project co-leader

Hi again,

I sent you a message a couple of weeks ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well!

If I don’t hear back from you by the end of April, I will assume you no longer wish to be a member of the Germany Project and I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Hi Karen!

I see you follow the tag "Swedish Roots" and would like you to be aware of that the official tag for Sweden Project is simply "Sweden". If you did not intend to follow the tag used by Sweden Project, then I apologise in advance.

Karen - Thanks for reviewing the profiles. I agree - looks like some things may be intermingled with the sources. More research needed. Thanks again!

Hi Karen

Thanks for the catch on James Helm(s) the mother is Rachael Supthin, Connie or Constance was dead when he was born but she was his fathers first wife. I corrected bio. there are about 3 James Helm on Family search all born about same time and area, different parents and wives.

Hi ,

Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you recently created a profile for a pre-1700 ancestor.

There have recently been some updates to the Pre-1700 Profile help page and the Pre-1700 Quiz since you took it in Mar 2018. Please review both and let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You will notice that the wording has been modified to more fully explain the sourcing needed for pre-1700 profiles.

Thanks, Sherry

I re-proposed the merge. I updated his birth and death dates as well as added sources, I haven't edited any family members recently though.

Me too, I use familysearch often and sites like findagrave just as a back up. I found this today... https://archive.org/details/familyofrobertjo00bear/page/n15

Its a family history of someone related to the Evans compiled in the 1930s. II just haven't been on wikitree for a while and haven't updated or corrected profiles that have estimates for dates or anything. I will update his profile soon, but I might not get to it for a while as I have other things I need to do.

Evans-4689 does not have children listed and Pearl Elizabeth Hinerman is very similar to the Elizabeth Hiney. I haven't updated Evans-22725 recently, but I his wifes name is Hinerman. The dates and everything line up on my other tree, but this one hasn't been updated in a really long time. Once I bring everything of Evans-22725 up to date with my current research will you reconsider merging?
