John W. Lindsey is hard to find. His name occurs in three locations--his wife's pension application under her second husband's name; his daughter's marriage to her second husband; and his marriage to Nancy Sophia Wilcox.

DNA results haven't helped. I theorize that Lydia Gardner Lindsey Epperson might be his mother, but no DNA results point in this direction.

I also explored Lydia Lamb Lindsey and her son John C. Lindsey, but found nothing conclusive.
