I have been doing extensive research on my family tree. My ancestors came to the US from Ireland, England, and Germany. Some were here as early at 1632. I have discovered that one of my great-grandmothers, Mercy Holbridge, was accused, tried and found guilty of witchcraft in Fairfield, CT which has been chronicled in 'Escaping Salem: The Other Witch Hunt of 1692' by Richard Godbeer, Oxford University Press, 2004.
