Biography

This profile is part of the Zalewski Name Study.

Martin Zalewski was born around 27 October 1797 in Lonkorsz, Löbau, West Prussia, Prussia, Deutschland.[1]

Martin was born about 1796. We have yet to find his baptismal record. It does not seem to be located in either the Szwarcenowo or nearby Skarlin parish records. Though, there is a promising record in nearby Lipinki for a Martinus Zaleski[1], which is not technically the same surname. In these specific records, based on a few other entries for similar families, it seems like the surname Zalewski was spelled multiple ways.

Martin (23) married Marianna Sobotka (21) (born on 23 February 1799 in Krottoschin, Löbau, Germany; daughter of Simon Sobotka and [mother]) on 21 December 1820 in Krotoschin, Löbau, Westpreussen.[2] Their children were:

Martin (55) married Anna Tadajewska (42) (born about 1810 in West Prussia) on 21 August 1853 in Krottoschin, Löbau.[3]

Martin passed away on 5 December 1860 in Krottoschin, Löbau, aged 63.[4]
