Pauline, the eldest, my mother's grandmother, knew her mother was dying of tuberculosis; the others look like they did too. Pauline told my mother about having to sleep in her dying mother's bed and being afraid.
Her mother died when Pauline was 12.

Sophia later changed her name to Margaret; I don't know if that was a middle name.
