William & Alice Prisley's home at 85 Fairview Ave., Pawtucket, RI about 1900.

Pictured L-to-R are my great, great grandmothers Jane "Elizabeth" (Crane) Prisley and Esther (Wilson) Burford; my great grandmother Alice May (Burford) Prisley and great grandfather William Archibald Prisley; and my grandfather Frederic Archibald Prisley for whom I'm named.

William Prisley immigrated from Leicestershire, England as a child with his parents James and Elizabeth Prisley. The family settled in Pawtucket, RI and it is believed that this house was William and Alice's second home in Pawtucket after they were married. They would live there only a few years before leaving Rhode Island to leave family footprints in Vermont where my grandfather would eventually go to college and meet his wife, and in Massachusetts where Alice's family lived and where my father would be born.

The house still stands and can be seen on Google maps in what is now a much more crowded neighborhood on the western side of Pawtucket.
