Harriet Strickland's family members were Church of England where she was christened as a baby. Her marriage to George Rainford was also in a C of E church. However this shows that she was baptized as a Roman Catholic just days prior to her death, and that her youngest son Robert who was born in the U.S., was baptized the next day.

Note the priest's addendum that it is a conditional baptism and that she is the wife of George, who is Catholic. At the time, nonconformists such as Catholics, Baptists, etc did not have records in England because the Church/State were the same.
