BIOGRAPHY

1883 Marriage to James Morrison Mark Isabella Gibbon married James Morrison Mark on 30 August 1883 at St. John Evangilist, Barrow in Furness, Lancashire, England. Both fathers, William Mark and James Gibbon, were present. Details are not available on how James ended up in England. James was 23 and Isabella, 22.[1]

1885-1896, Births of five children Three children were born to James and Isabella between 1895 and 1890: William in 1885 in Glasgow, Helen in 1886 in England, and James in 1890 in Glasgow. Jemima followed in 1893 and Isabella in 1896, both born in Clydebank, Dunbartonshire.

1891 Census James and Isabella have returned to the Glasgow area and are now living at 5 Alexander Street, 3rd floor, Clydebank, Old Kilpatrick Parish and RD, County Dunbartonshire. James and Isabella are now both 30, and James is a plumber. William is 6, Helen is 5 and James is 1.[2]

1901 Census James and Isabella are now living at 28 Alexander Street, Clydebank, Old Kilpatrick Parish and RD, County Dunbartonshire. William is 16 and an apprentice joiner and Helen is 15 and a sewing machine shaft parts inspector. James is 11, Jemima, 8, and Isabella, 5, are scholars.[3]

1911 Census In 1911, James and Isabella are both 50 and are living at 63 Kilbowie Road, Clydebank. James is now a plumber in the shipbuilding industry. Son James is not present, but the other four unmarried children are still at home: William, 26, is a joiner in the shipbuilding industry; Helen, 25, and Jemima, 18, are clerkesses at a drapers business; Isabella is 15, with no occupation listed.[4]
