Jane Haskell was born on 30 May 1809 in Woodstock, Windham, Connecticut, the daughter of William Haskell & Sylvania ^[1]

Jane married John Elliott Vinton on May 29, 1830^[2] Together they had the following (known) children^[2]:

1. Ann Frances, b. ---- 11, 1830; d. 1831.
2. John Merrick, b. Jan. 18, 1832.
3. Franklin Augustus, b. Feb. 24, 1833; d. 1839.
4. Jane Frances, b. May 10, 1835.
5. Jeannette, b. Oct. 15, 1839.
6. Seraph, b. Dec. 20, 1842
7. Franklin Elliot, b. June 8, 1843.

The family resided in Southbridge, Mass, where her husband was a selectman for several years.
