It is believed that these two brothers, Joseph and Resolved, immigrated to New Amsterdam between the Fall of 1654 or Early 1655.

They bought a house on Broadway near Wall Street.

On 3 May 1657 Resolved Waldron was made a burgher of New Amsterdam and on 25 May 1658 he was made provost and deputy sheriff.

He continued as deputy sheriff until 1664.

At the time of the British conquest of New Amsterdam in 1664, he signed an oath of allegiance to the British.

Later he moved to the village of Harlem, in upper Manhattan, where he held several public offices.

He was a magistrate there in 1673 at the time of the Dutch reconquest at which time he signed the oath of allegiance to the Dutch.

He was a patentee of Harlem in 1686.

Removing Maria Goverts-1 as a mother. As discussed in this thread, she is actually the mother-in-law of Resolved's brother Joseph's wife Annetje.

Waldron-445 and Waldron-25 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge into the NNS PPP. No tree conflicts. Thanks!

Oops!

I made a mistake and removed the unmerged match.

Been looking at your Joseph Waldron profile - wow! That's a lot of work that you put into it.

I don't want to mess it up with the one that I have.

Juduth Waldron was Isaac's 3rd wife.

Jannekean (Van Wilkenhoff) Selover was Isaac's 2nd wife. She is my 9th great grand mother.

This book has information about the Waldrons. Page 2 to page 3.

Please compare Waldron-759 and Waldron-25 . Currently unmerged matches...They seem the same. Should they be merged?

Do you have more information on the waldrons?

There is a lot of confusion about the parentage of Resolved and Joseph Waldron's parents that I would like to clean up.

Thanks, Tom Quick
