This Hannah Seaman was the unnamed 14th child of John and Martha (Moore) Seaman, who the Seaman Genealogy says married Caleb Carman, born about 1658, died 1720-1729, son of John and Hannah (---) Carman, subject 536, page 2, for their issue and further particulars.

(Please note:The Seaman Genealogy days she married before 1660, John Carman, born July 8/1632, died 1684. This is proved incorrect in Henry Alanson Tredwell's Genealogy of John Carman, Brooklyn, 1946, which states that the Hannah who married John Carman was born in 1636, last name unknown, but of some other Hempstead family: his proof is the fact that John Carman had no daughter Hannah, see subject 536, page 1.[1]

I think either the mother is incorrect, or these children are not correct.

Thank you, Gerri. There seems to be quite a bit of controversy surrounding Hannah. I don’t know what to do... If you would like me to add you as a manager I would be happy to do that.

Hannah Carmen would have been 3 when Benjamin was born.

I believe her birth year is questionable.

Seaman-28 and Seaman-895 appear to represent the same person because: Same person; unable to verify mothers

has information regarding John Carman, also disputes that his wife was a Seaman.

Something wrong with this Hannah Seaman. She is recorded as seven years younger than her mother??? Since there is another daughter named Hannah further down the tree, I suspect this surname is incorrect. Secondly, a descendant list of John Carman has their oldest son as Caleb, married to the younger Hannah Seaman. Caleb would not have married his mother's younger sister (his maternal aunt). I believe the parents and surname for this profile should be deleted and have her as Hannah Unknown pending further research. This link will show the two Hannah Seamans as incompatible..
