Hannah Cain, daughter of Cornelius Cain and Elizabeth Newman, was born in Adams County, Ohio, United States, 10 Mar 1809. In Decatur County, Indiana, 4 Sep 1827, she obtained a license to marry,[1] and, 24 Sep 1827, married, Bluford Dulin.[2] In about 1828, they had a son, James.[3] James was likely born in Jackson Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, where, in 1830, Hannah and Bluford resided, with him and an unknown infant daughter, immediately next door to Hannah's birth family, who had moved there in 1829.[4]
By 1840, Hannah and Buford resided in Kankakee, Will County, Illinois, with their sons, James and the unknown infant from 1830, and daughters, Levina, Juliana, and Lucretia, all of whom, it seems, were born in Indiana.[5]
They then had in Will County, sons Hiram (1842) and Bluford (1844).[6] But sometime before 24 Sep 1850, Hannah died, presumably in Sherburne, Will County, Illinois, because the 1850 Census shows Bluford residing there with their children, but without her.[6]
