Biography

According to the Fulkerson.org website, Volkert was born probably around late-1750 to mid-1751, as his baptismal records show a date of August 04, 1751 at the Raritan DRC (Dutch Reformed Church). His parents on the record were Jacob and Marya (Maria), and the witness was "Marritie Folkerse" (possibly a cousin)?

There is some indication that he may have served in the Revolutionary War in Captain Ten Eyck's company of Bridgewater, New Jersey - his name would have been listed as Fulkert Fulkerson.

There does appear to be some leanings towards his marriage to Mary Boyce, although the website does not indictate that this is certain. Obviously their children are also somewhat in question as well.^[1]
