John Robert Lewis was born on February 14, 1901 in Alberton,PEI, Canada, son of Henry Allen Lewis (1839–1939) and Maria Currie (1854–1947).

In the 1921 census John (age 18), Farmer, was the single son of Henry Lewis at 8 Fortune, Prince, Fortune, Prince Edward Island, Canada.[1]

John passed away on March 29, 1988 in O'Leary, PEI, aged 87.
