Biography

James Shearer, son of John Shearer and Martha Grant was baptised in the parish of Boharm, Banffshire on 24 January 1821.^[1]

James married Margaret Reid in the parish of Dunfermline, Fife on 26 December 1849.^[2]

In 1851 James (age about 30) was living in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.^[3]

In 1861 James (age about 40) was living in Dunfermline Burgh, Fife, Scotland.^[4]

In 1871 James (age about 50) an accountant and Commission agent was living with his wife and three children in Dunfermline Burgh, Fife, Scotland.^[5]

James died in Dunfermline, Fife in 1902, aged 82.^[6]
