Rachel Barclay was born in 1517 in St Cyrus, Kincardineshire, , Scotland, daughter of George Barclay (1493 - 1547) and Marjory (Auchterlony) Barclay (1494 - ). Her brother was David Barclay (1515 - 1560).
Rachel married Alexander Lindsay (1505 - 1558). Their son was Reverend David Ross Lindsay (1531 - 1613).
Rachel died in 1580 in aged ~63.
