Descendant of Joris Jansen Rapelje (1604 - 1662) Lammetie was the great-granddaughter of Joris Jansen Rapelje, a famous member of the Council of Twelve Men in the Dutch West India Company colony of New Netherland and among the earliest settlers in New Netherland..

I assume that Rapelje and Rapalje are variations on the same surname.

Sarah Brinckerhoff and Joris Brinckerhoff were children of Abraham Jorisz Brinckerhoff and his wife Aeltie Stryker.

Sarah married (first of two husbands) Jacob Rapalje.

Joris (one of several) married Annetie Coevers

Aeltie Brinckerhoff, Antie Brinckerhoff and Hendrick Brinckerhoff were children of Joris and Annetie.

Aeltie married Cornelius Rapelje.

Antie married Abraham Rapelje.

Hendrick married Lammetie Rapalje.

Probable connection between Jacob Rapalje and the spouses of Joris' children, but don't know what it is.

There is a large organization of Brinckerhoff descendants, and many of them responded when I placed a request for information in the S.A.R. magazine. There is probably a line that qualifies for SAR/DAR through the Brinckerhoff line (Either Marschretan's father or grandfather or both) if all the documentation could be gathered. I started on that a few years ago to prove out as another supplimental line, but never finished it.
