Franklin Burdge wrote "A Notice of John Haring" in 1878. It is available on Dutch Door Genealogy http://www.dutchdoorgenealogy.com Here is a excerpt about his death:
"About October, 1808, he had a stroke of paralysis. He recovered from it but did not regain his former vigor. His will was made on December 19th. His residence was then near Blauveltville, three miles from Tappan. He owned also real estate in Cayuga Co., and a negro woman named Abigail.H On the last day of March, 1809, he was out feeding his horses, when he felt the approach of another paralytic stroke. He walked rapidly to the house and said to his wife, "Get me to bed as quick as you can". He died at 5 o'clock the morning of April 1st, 1809.
He is buried in the new cemetery at Tappan. His widow survived till October 22, 1825, and is buried in the churchyard at Monsey."
