Per Snell, the family bible that was in the possession of Rev. Dr. John B Thompson, the grandson of Elizabeth Morehead (granddaughter of Adriaen Aten) contained entries for 9 children of Adriaen Aten and Jacobje Middagh. "In't Jaar 1732, Den 22 December Zijn Gebooren Jan En Gerradus Aten" (In the year 1732, on 22 December are born Jan and Gerradus Aten).

I can find no records with him as Eaton. His baptism shows Aten. Of the baptisms I can find for his children three are Aten and one is Auten. However, there are three I have not found as yet. Does someone have a reference to him being Eaton?
