Biography

MARY CAROLINE WILLSON, the daughter of James Willson and Mary A. Laing, was born Nov. 20, 1842 in Hunterdon Co., New Jersey, and died Aug. 1, 1900. Married Sept. 19, 1866, by Friends ceremony in her parents home to John H. Vail, son of Lindley M. Vail and Rachel Harned. He was a merchant and postmaster at Quakertown, New Jersey, as well as a farmer for several years near the town. She was a semi-invalid for many years and the collecting of data concerning the Willson family was her consuming hobby, which was continued by her children. It is to them that much of the family history and genealogy has been preserved. Parents of three children, who were born in Hunterdon Co., New Jersey. (Willson 105)
