Biography

I'm a retired software architect / developer interested in computing, history, travel, and genealogy.[1]

Here's an interesting toy that will either spur you to ever greater genealogical achievements or drive you to the liquor cabinet:

https://apps.wikitree.com/apps/nelson3486/brickwalls/

Just click on the link, type in your WikiTree ID (e.g. Boulet-169), click the "Submit" button and wait for the list of where your genealogical past meets the fog of history (finding the tips of your roots takes time (in other words, the webpage is a bit slow (meaning patience is a virtue (really)))).

The Names of Genealogical Relationships

Here's a chart that I have often found useful: https://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Boulet-169-1

I, Daniel, noticed this here today (2018-11-14). I don't know what it is so I'm making it visible by turning the left and right curly braces into descriptive words:

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Daniel by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line. Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line: It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Daniel:

Hi Daniel.

thanks ever so much for posting images for Eleanore (Lacharite) Bolduc and others. I am helping a family find their roots. Most appreciated.

Hi ,

On behalf of the Connectors Project Leaders, we are doing a six-month check-in with members. Please let us know if you are still active. If you are active, please let us know in which ways you are currently contributing to the project.

All of us at WikiTree would like to thank you for your contributions and hope that you are enjoying exploring your roots.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Michelle ~ Volunteer Coordinator

For various reasons, the amount of time that I spend working on the WikiTree site dropped pretty dramatically a couple of years ago. That said, I do continue to make minor edits and such here and there. I'm hoping to get back into the game although I'm not really sure when (maybe later this year).

Not sure how I missed this note when it was sent over a year ago. Sorry.

Hi again Daniel. Thank you so much for notifying me that I had failed to put the source on Elizabeth's Savoie's profile. I put the source and link on her mother's profile and didn't get it on hers. My apologies! I have done that just now along with a note concerning her relationship to Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

Hi Daniel. I made a change to the profile of Louise (dite Elisabeth) SAVOIE-616 per the note on the profile and research. I posted the sources. One link has further information that would help add parents to Elisabeth's parents which I regret I don't have time to do. Please contact me if you have any questions or objections. Happy Holidays!

As my mother was a Caouette that is certainly the preferred . There have been other phonetic spellings used by French Canadian relatives that could not write eg cowett. Exactly as it is pronounced!

Hi Danny

Just checking to see how you're doing? It's so wonderful to see your well sourced profiles.

It's my feeling that you are fine now and no longer need my mentoring, so if it's OK with you, I'm going to remove you from my Mentorees :)

Any news on the mysterious Lena?

Maryann

HI Daniel,

To Follow up on your message, no need to fret about your Notables you created already. There aren't too many rules about them in place, aside from making sure to use certain privacy settings, and that's easy to change. If ever in doubt, use our G2G forum to ask for guidance by tagging your post with "notables" and there'll be plenty of us on hand to help! Thanks for improving our shared family tree!
