Notes
JACOB VAN KUYKENDAAL, or Jacob Kuykendall, as he later signed his name, the second child of Luer, was baptized August 12, 1683, at Kingston, N. Y. He was reared to manhood in the region about Kingston, and married Adrientjen Tietsoort, who was the daughter of Abram Tietsoort of Kingston, and niece of William Tietsoort, the pioneer blacksmith. The Tietsoorts, (now spelled Tittsworth), and the Kuykendalls intermarried in several instances later, as when William, a son of Stephen Tittsworth, married Catherine Kuykendal, daughter of Hendrick Kuykendal and Elizabeth Cole.
Jacob Kuykendall had only one child, Margrita, by his first wife. She was baptized at Kingston, N. Y., September 11, 1709. This first wife, Adrientje Tietsoort, must have died soon after the birth of her daughter Margrita, for his second marriage is recorded as having taken place at Minisink, February 3, 1712. The record in the Church register reads:
"Married, Jacob Van Kuykendaal, wid'r of Adrientjen Tietsoort, and Sara Westvaal, maiden, both residing in Mennissing, (Minisink).
Family record of Jacob Van Kuykendaal now follows:
Margrita, baptized Sept. 11, 1709, by 1st wife Adrientje Tietsoort.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jacob Luursz by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jacob Luursz:
This person is the father of my ancestor Nathaniel van Kuykendaal (or Kuykendall). When I tried to add this profile as the father, I wound up here. I did create a page for Nathaniel, because Wiki Tree didn't find one that had been made for him already. (I don't know if there is one, but I couldn't find one.) I would like to connect this Jacob as the father of my ancestor, but it seems that the project managers are in charge of this action. The record I'm talking about is Kuykendaal-15. Thank you!
Me again - I see that there IS a page for Nathaniel. I have found a link to it on THIS page. So my page ought to merged into that one, but I don't see how to do it. I think this is because it's a special protected page, the project managers have to take care of that. Thank you again.
Some sort of accommodation needs to arrived at regarding varying surname spellings.
Spelling wasn't standardized or even considered important until fairly recently. At best, regional loose guidelines influenced spellings but nothing was 'enforced.' People often varied their name over the course of a lifetime - to better fit in or stand out more. Some had variation thus upon them by officials. Some documents (such as Wills) even show Individuals spelling their own name variably within that single document.
This means that there will be times that no definitive spelling of a person's surname can be established. Differing spellings can't a valid reason to defer a Merge.
(Unless WikiTree has a near-term rock-solid timeline for supporting 'known variant spellings for a particular person.)
Van Kuykendall-42 and Kuykendall-1494 appear to represent the same person because: Same people. Made mistake postponing the merge. Forgot the name was already protected.

Kuykendall-1494 and Van Kuykendall-42 appear to represent the same person because: These to match from page 388 of the 1919 "History of the Kuykendall Family" bt George Benson Kuykendall, MD (1843-1939). Additional merges will be needed to merge the tree fragment.
Jacob had a wife before he married Sarah Westfall. 1st wife-Adrientje Tietsoort, and they had a child Margrita Kuykendall born 1709, and she married William Freer.
