Hello,

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions!

Guy ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hello

Thank you for signing the Honor code. Collaboration, accurate information and good sources are the basis for a great WikiTree.

By signing the Honor Code you're telling others you are a responsible Wiki genealogist.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Have a nice journey on Wikitree,

Guy - Wikitree Mentor / Leader

Hi!

How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Shirley ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hi Candace,

Thanks for your message indicating you have worked on your family history for the past 20 years and you like the idea of the shared WikiTree family tree. I have found WikiTree to be an excellent tool for research and collaboration.

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree. Once you entered your family members it is exciting to see other people finding your family profiles, asking questions, and expanding it.

To show you the benefits being a WikiTree member please refer to WikiTree Community Membership.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum, or you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Great to have you on board, good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree.

I've been working on family genealogy off and on for over 20 years. I have enjoyed seeing how people are related and the thought of one large correct family tree just wow's me. The historical value is amazing. More about me? I love animals of all sorts, even the scaly ones. Love History, reading and a plethora of other activities. I'd like to say hello to each of you out there and a hearty thank you for all your work.

Hi, Candace -

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM; thank you so much! Here's a link to a great step-by-step explanation of the process, including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, good to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
