Biography

Pat (Fuller) Credit is a descendant of a Mayflower Passenger.
There are many surnames I want to explore, however, WikiTree has a limit on the quantity of One Name Studies. This I can understand since it is difficult to have time to do justice to a surname study. I list 10 Surnames to study, 3 of which are classified as Other Surnames of Interest. The other seven are WikiTree One Name Studies which have Links to g2g posts for Surname:
Pat (Fuller) Credit is a descendant of Mayflower Passenger Edward Fuller.
Pat (Fuller) Credit is a descendant of Mayflower Passenger Samuel Fuller.

Pat, the daughter of Mel and Helen Fuller, was born in the early 1950s in Moline, Illinois.[1] Later years have focused on her new interest in genealogy. Below continues more details of the surnames and other lines to study. If there were only more time left ...

Researching ancestors of my Parents:

  • Pat:
Pat (Fuller) Credit is a member of the Fuller Name Study Project.
is one of three
This profile is part of the Fuller Name Study.
, Leaders of the Fuller Name Study.

My father descended from two Mayflower passengers named FULLER. He was a typographer as far back as I can remember.

Pat (Fuller) Credit is a member of the Weaver Name Study Project.

My mother's family were farmers but she called those Weavers "a WILD bunch".
Breaking down BrickWall: George Weaver (1817 - 1892),'s FindAGrave memorial 17897960 gives clues of his parentage from an obituary published in Rock Island County during 1885. Immigration was listed as about 1828 when he was 11 has not been verified.

Researching ancestors of my Family:

Pat (Fuller) Credit is a member of the James Name Study Project.

Children of First Marriage: My first marriage was to a Sweeney who married a James, some say a distant cousin to Jesse. Though not an official Name Study, I do have an interest in reseaching my children's surname, SWEENEY, a surname of interest.

Grandchildren: The Babcocks and Stewart lines are paternal ancestors of one of my granddaughters. It's easy to Remember where these lines come together:

Pat (Fuller) Credit is a member of the Babcock Name Study Project.

Remember's Father, Robert was the grandson of James Badcock who was born in England about 1612 and was living in Rhode Island by 1642. Remember's father and grandfather were born and died in Rhode Island. Remember lived there until moving to Stoniington, Connecticut where she married Phineas during 1745. It is not known how long she had lived there before she married at age 25.

Pat (Fuller) Credit is a member of the Stewart Name Study Project.

Remember's husband, Phineas was the son of William and Sarah (Church) Stewart. William's parents have not been identified. More research is required.

The children of Pat and her first husband, Woodrow, are related to some people through both of their parents. For details see: Fuller and Sweeney Common Ancestors

Second Marriage: Researching the ancestry of my husband was the primary reason for starting my genealogical studies which covers many surnames of interest not mentioned above:

  • Credit
  • Gren/Grant
  • Knous
  • Scholl

Consider the scope of your name study: I committed early to studies then got attached and ended up wanting more studies than was allowed. So I have one unofficial study. OOPS!

As you can see from the table below, taking on a Name Study for Fuller, James or Weaver would be challenging for just one person, while a Name Study for Christ, Thurber or Trump can be much more reasonable.

Dear Pat,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in with project members. Please review the following and respond to let us know that you are content with your current team or if you would like to be more involved.

The Project operates in a team structure. There are currently three participant PIP Teams -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

There are currently three different Biography Teams - The Biography Team, the Abandoned Team, and the Popular Team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team. The Biography Team works on profiles from their watchlist and other profiles that interest them.

Are you happy with the Team you are on? If you are interested in working with a different Team, please let us know.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (You will need your Wiki ID for both). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Dear Pat,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing its first annual check-in with our project members. Please review the following and let us know if you are content where we have placed you or would like to be more involved.

We are in the process of transitioning to a team structure. There will be three participant PIP Teams to start -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team Level 1, working on profiles from your own watchlist, from projects in which you are involved, and whatever else you find. Biography Teams Levels 2 and 3 will work on designated profiles for notables (Level 3) and everyday people (Level 2). Please let us know if you would like to help with a higher-level Bio Team or one of the other Teams.

You joined the Project before the Voyage started in late 2018. We would like to invite you to consider a "fast track" Voyage, especially if you would like to work at a higher level on the Biography Team. If you’re interested, choose a profile from your own watchlist that you have completed to the best of your ability and compare it to the Voyage Biography Standards. If your profile is at Level 2 or better, include a link to the profile in your response to this check-in for a “fast track” review.

We would also like to invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. If you request to join our GoogleGroup, please be sure to include your Wiki ID. Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project and WikiTree. The Project’s mission is to:

Make profiles beautiful! We clean up messy biography sections and sources, and try to set standards for attractive, useful, and well-written biographies, starting with those we manage.

We know you’re working on profiles *smile* We would like to hear about successes you’ve had toward the Project’s goals. We would also appreciate any feedback you might have to help us improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or privately via private message to either of us.

Hi Debi,

You have placed me in the level that fits me best. I am content to focus mostly on my watchlist and make an effort to improve them using project standards as a guide.

As for fast track reviews, I would suggest two of my favorite profiles which seem more finished than any others. (Not sure if any profile could ever be finished though: 1. My grandfather, Clyde Thomas Fuller (1890-1957) as there were more news articles about him then I could ever use here. 2. I am the great grand niece of Clara Ann Elizabeth (Fuller) Herr (abt.1854-abt.1935) whose biography was a joy to write. Hope to start improving profiles of her husbands and their families sooner rather than later.

Health issues keep me from WT far too much. My husband has more pressing chores which keeps my computer issues from reaching the top of his to-do list. Therefore I'm not able to participate in either the GoogleGroup or Discord channel.

Hi, are you still monitoring the Jerry’s list profiles? I was going to work on one, I’m not sure what that notice means. Can I go ahead? There’s not many sources. Thank you, Ellen Gustafson.
posted by Ellen Gustafson
Earlier this month, I started out to edit all the profiles on my watchlist for minor formatting and making sure each profile had an acknowledgement section as it aides my research. Since Jerry's list is about 1/3 of my watchlist and has special concerns regarding his notes, I wanted to save them for last. I have checked about 1/4 of the profiles on my watchlist and will be starting on Jerry's list within the week. You are welcome to work on any profiles from Jerry's list. Please add a comment on the profile you are updating. Most of Jerry's Notes have been put on Cox Family History Preserved which is a work in progress. One of my goals is to add a category to all the profiles on his list regarding the status of any notes, if any, on those profiles. Category: Cox-5399 jcoxffGED contains details.

I've been ill and not on WikiTree much. Not sure how soon I'll be back regular. Trying to catch up a bit from my activity feed. Thank you and all the project members for updating Biden's relatives. Sorry I wasn't able to pitch in. Should Mary (Elkins) Biden (abt.1801-1863) be part of the Project? Her husband, William Biden (abt.1789-1849), is.

Hi Pat,

Normally the project only manages 4 generations of ancestors, in this case, because of the issues around "which William Biden", we are actually managing the 5th generation. As there does not seem to be a question about his wife, we decided that the project could forego management of her profile.

Been off WikiTree for a few weeks due to illness. Seems that WikiTree access requests were already handled for the Biden family. I'm not related to the Bidens. I manage family members of other politicians on both sides of the aisle.

Hi, Pat

The Ambassadors project has been reorganizing and is looking for those who have a membership at a genealogical society, to help in spreading the word about WikiTree.

We're working on ways to improve how WikiTree connects and interacts with genealogical and local history societies. This is the kind of thing we want to do:

  • Liaise with societies: set up your local society with a free-space page and some WikiTree materials as part of a package.
  • Use social media to promote what societies are offering on WikiTree.
  • Encourage bloggers to blog about societies and the resources available to them on WikiTree.

Are you interested in participating in some way? Do you have some ideas to share?

Azure Rae ~ co-Leader of Ambassadors Project

posted by Azure Robinson
Azure, Thank you for sharing. I wish you the best in this new venture. However, I only belong to one Genealogical Society, NEHGS, which provides me access to their online database. Currently my time availability is decreasing due to family health issues which makes it difficult to work on all the areas I want to improve here on WikiTree. I have access to Find-A-Grave and can add info/links to some memorials. Would there be any categories or stickers to add to WikiTree profiles whenever WikiTree info/links are added to memorials? I could add my grandfather's profile first. There's a lot of information available and would want a sticker for his profile highlighting the entry on FindAGrave memorial.

Hi Pat,

So sorry to hear of your family's health issues. Sending thoughts and prayers your way. Thanks for responding.

There is a FindAGrave template {{FindAGrave|123456}}. 123456 is a dummy number, just replace it with the memorial id.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Azure,

I use the FindAGrave template all the time. Still have to update profiles I did before I started using the template.

I added a subheader under "Research Notes" named, "Ambassadors Project: Link Builders Team". Starting process to join project. I wanted to know if there was a Project sticker I could add within that subheader to highlight linking profile on FindAGrave memorial. Let me know what you think.

Hi Pat, I’m not sure if you’re seeing my replies to your comments on the Ammidown profiles. There appear to be some errors or inconsistencies in the transcriptions of the Rehoboth records (and possibly the originals). It’s important to look at all the evidence. Henry Amidown is named asa a grandson of Samuel Perry, Mehitable’s father. Henry is also named as the oldest son of Philip Ammidown his will.

If I am not on the trusted list for those profiles then I wouldn't know to look given that I didn't see the e-mails sent. I do mention above that I'm having e-mail issues and it's not the best way to contact me. It's just as important for you to "to look at all the evidence." I've sent trusted list requests for Phillip Amidown and Henry Amidon. It will be easier for me to research once they are approved. Not sure how to find the original birth record.

My Family Activity Feed is my main source of information as long as I can't get emails on my computer.

Pat, I'm sorry you're having trouble with emails. You might want to mention that on comments you add to profiles, as you should be notified when people respond there. People won't necessarily know that they have to go to your profile.

I did start a g2g discussion regarding Henry here: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1069462/was-henry-amidon-ammidown-phillip-amidown-mehitabell-perry

Maybe if you add Amidon or Perry to your tags you can at least get updates in your Genealogy Feed? (Amidon isn't very active so it shouldn't clutter things up).
