DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Matt or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • Denny Seymour Find Relationship : Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 111 markers, haplogroup R-BY3298, FTDNA kit #108347 + Y-Chromosome Test 419 markers, haplogroup R-Y20344
  • Matt Seymour: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 111 markers, haplogroup R-M269, FTDNA kit #656850
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
  • Matt Seymour: Mitochondrial DNA Test Full Sequence, haplogroup U5b1c1
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Matt:

Hi Matthew! I noticed you pulled a couple of inline references for your third great-aunt Lucy (Seymour) Pitkin out of the text into a bulleted list. We typically prefer them to be inline with the facts that they support - see the Sources Style Guide on References, so I stuck them back inline and added the 1850 census for her.

Thanks,

- Karen

Hi!

Just checking in with a few quick tips:

Looking to make more connections or find more information about an ancestor but not sure how to do that? Try categorizing your profiles.

Not sure what to put into a biography? Here are some Bio Ideas. Also, make sure that the biographies match WikiTree’s Styles and Standards.

If you come across an unresponsive manager, we have a process for those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, please ask!!

Hi Matthew,

Just a quick PS

Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.

if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

Best Wishes, and have fun adding your leaves and branches!
