Charity Haight Wife of Joshua Haight Departed this life the 18th. of the 4th. mo. 1770 and was Buried in friends burying ground at Ninepartners the 19th. of the Same in the 57th. year of her age.

Research Notes

Although she is much recorded in the Quaker records in print, and in. Custody of the Haviland Record Room in NYC, I have found no record of her. maiden name as yet. Research continues. On page 2 of what appears to me. to be a Record of Deaths book (copies of these pages were sent to me by. the Keeper of Records, but the names of these books did not always. appear).

Notes

• Quaker Calendar - There has been much confusion over the dates in Quaker records. Friends used numbered months and days rather than what they considered pagan names for them (i.e. "Thursday" coming from "Thor's Day"). Thus, when the secular calendar was changed in 1752, making January the first month instead of March, Friends began calling January "First Month".
