You and I are cousin's through not only Eli Roberts (1656 - 1693), our collective eighth great grandfather, but also through William Gregg Sr (1616 - 1672), our collective 9th great grandfather.

Hi again!

I'm recruiting for Team Virginia for the Source-a-Thon Oct. 1-3. You haven't heard of it? Go get your race bib here, details about the Source-a-Thon are here, and you can join Team Virginia by posting an Answer (not a comment or reply) to this G2G post - see also the Team Virginia page for helpful hints and links to Virginia sources.

Even if you find a solid source for just one Unsourced profile Oct. 1-3, you'll be helping! There are door prizes too!

Come join the fun :D

Cheers, Liz

Hi!

I see you have an interest in Virginia (I saw your Virginia tag). Let me know if you'd like to join the Virginia project - it's a subproject under the United States History project & covers Virginia from June 25, 1788 (the date Virginia ratified the Constitution). You might also be interested in this Virginia project, under the US Southern Colonies project, which covers "pre-USA" Virginia.

Cheers, Liz

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Robert,

Welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has useful links that will get you started.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as one collaborative team. (It still amazes me to create a profile, include what little I know about an ancestor, then get a message that a new cousin has added details that I never had a clue about!)

When you confirm your email address, you have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree. If you do, you'll be asked to add tags to your profile. (Tags are surnames, locations, concepts, etc. that you'd like to track.)

A greeter will then confirm your membership, and you'll be on your way!

Carole

P.S. I'm always happy to answer questions.
