Welcome to the Mayflower Project! In this project we all might be direct descendants of different people, but with our common bond, we're like family. The g2g is very helpful too!!
I've been watching you enter information for a STORMS family tree and you've inspired me to get busy with my end of the STORMS tree. I suspect that our trees overlap and over the next few months I'll spend time on my end. Like your stories, my family story is that our family came over with the Mayflower; however, I think I can only trace back to John Storms in the Thennis Day's Bergen County Regiment of New Jersey Militia in the Revolutionary War.
I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 248 contributions to Wikitree, thank you! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!
In addition to the Mayflower project, Why don't you stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.
Again, thanks for volunteering to work on Pre-1700 profiles!
Sarah, this is Becky, leader of the Mayflower project. You will need the pre-1700 badge before you can participate in the Mayflower Project. Please let me know when you have it. I will be glad to award you the badge then. This is the url:
Hello again, Sarah. Thanks for posing the question concerning your family connections to passengers of the Mayflower. I didn't know myself how to address this; I was advised to recommend you contact those working on the Mayflower Project. The project leader is Becky Syphers. I hope they are able to solve this issue. Enjoy your time at WikiTree and stay on the trail.
Congratulations, Sarah! You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree. To get started, please see: How to Use WikiTree.
The central hub where we share ideas and answer questions is our G2G Forum. It is here you will find the Question of the Week:
What genealogy item is on your Christmas wish list this year? You may also search for topics of interest and introduce yourself with a post about an ancestor you are researching.
There are numerous ways you may get involved at WikiTree. See the Volunteers Needed page for more information on projects you can contribute to.
Thanks for volunteering and enjoy the journey. --Rod
Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email we sent has useful links that will help you get started.
WikiTree is unique among genealogy sites in that our goal is to have One Profile per person. We are growing a shared global tree in which we collaborate as a team of researchers.
After you have confirmed your e-mail address, you may wish to add YOUR family branches by becoming a Volunteer. If so, indicate your genealogy interests by filling in TAGs for surnames you want to research, like GARCIA or a location, like SWEDEN. Include a comment on why each TAG is meaningful to you. Make sure to click the "Enter Tag(s) and Volunteer" button and a Greeter will follow-up in confirming your membership.
