John was born in 1744. He was a Loyalist Captain in Roger's Rangers.[1][2]
He married Helena Couvenhoven. She returned to Freehold, Monmouth Co., New Jersey after her husband died. She died there 20 Oct 1820.
John Longstreet of Parrsborough wrote his Last Will and Testament 29 Dec 1786, leaving bequests to his wife Helena, sons Richard and John, and daughters Hannah and Lydia. Hannah was not yet 16 at the time the will was written. The will was probated 28 Oct 1788. [3]
He passed away in 1788[4] and is buried in Saint George's Anglican Cemetery, Parrsboro, Cumberland Co, NS.[5]
