(Jean) “louis reveau — from the town of Vif in the parish of St. Jean at two
leagues from Grenoble. He had been in the Detroit garrison for
several years when he obtained permission to marry the eldest
daughter of Pierre Dinan. He received a grant of land 3 arpents wide
on the south side on which he has settled. His wife received her ration
through her father in 1749 and 1750. To him is granted one ration
from January 1, 1751, to July 1, 1752. [Tools etc.] “ [1]
On 12 Jan 1750, in Ste-Anne de Détroit, Jean Louis Rénan son of Claude Rénan (sic) and Marie Anne Rondel, of St. Jean diocèse de Grenoble, married Marie Josephe Dignan (sic) daughter of Pierre Dignan and Marie Josephe Lebœuf. Witnesses included the bride's father who could not sign and neither could the couple. [2]
Jean Louis LaJeunesse (the same person) was living in the River raisin area on October 15,1788 and helped to establish the first Catholic parish in the area.
Jean Baptiste Réveau dit Lajeunesse died 10 jan 1800 at the age of 80 years. He was buried 2 days later in L'Assomption de Sandwich de Windsor cemetery. [3]
