Biography

Tryntje Stratenmaker was born in Hoboken, Province of New Jersey; baptized on March 4, 1674 at the Reformed Dutch Church. She is the daughter of Jan Dircksen Straetmaker and Geesje (Gerrits) van Steenwyck, both born in Netherland.[1]

She married Jan Claessen Kuyper on October 1, 1694 in Bergen (Hudson) County, New Jersey.[2] They had six children.

  1. Geesje Janse Kuyper was born on March 26, 1695 in Bergen Township.[3][4]
  2. Claes "Nicholas" Claesen was born on November 30, 1696 in Bergen Township; died on December 24, 1698.[5][6]
  3. Annatje Claesen Kuyper was born on June 29, 1698 in Bergen Township.[7][8]
  4. Raeghel Kuyper was baptized on July 30, 1700 at the Dutch Reformed Church in Tappan, Rockland County, New York.[9]
  5. Claues Kuyper was baptized on February 13, 1703 at the Dutch Reformed Church in Tappan, Rockland County, New York.[10]
  6. Tryntye Kuyper was baptized on March 5, 1705 at the Dutch Reformed Church in Tappan, Rockland County, New York.[11]

Her husband Jan died on July 9, 1705.

She married Jacob Hansz (Harte) Heerte on October 16, 1706 in Tappan, Rockland County, New York.[12][13][14] They had at least four children.

  1. Jannetie Hartje was born on January 16, 1707; baptized October 14, 1707.[15]
  2. Marytie Harte was born on March 21, 1710; baptized on April 12, 1710.[16]
  3. Lea Hartje was born about 1711; died about February 17, 1755.
  4. Jannetie (Heerte) Hartje was baptised November 14, 1714.[17]
