Hi Rodney,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!

It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

This process has wiped all the work i did in the past to build my family tree and to contribute to the project. It is extremely disappointing and i do not believe i have the time or energy to rebuild. I hope that you can reconnect me to everything i contributed to. If there a way that i can reclaim this information please advise.

Hi Rodney

It has been a couple of weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Acadia Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.

We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.

If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.

Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

All of us at WikiTree would like to thank you for your contributions and hope that you are enjoying exploring your roots.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yes Marthe could have been born first but definitely not in Quebec as her parents met in Fort Ste Anne and went to Memramcook, NB from there and that is why the assumption that Andre & Marguerite married around 1785. Marguerite was born in 1765 in Quebec but shortly after her family moved to Fort Ste Anne check her mother's biography https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Melanson-157. As you must already know all mariage register for Andre & Marguerite, their children's birth registers all perished in the fire of the Memramcook church in 1795. We know that my 4GGF died around 1791 because Marguerite remarried to Pierre LeBlanc.

Hi, I am Dorothy, a WikiTree mentor!! Are you enjoying your time on WikiTree so far?

Now that you have had a little time to try our site, there are a few more features you may find useful:

For instance, ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards; including some tips on writing biographies

Also a friendly reminder about adding sources and references to your profile. Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes different kinds of sources: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Rodney, do you speak any French or other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | fr-3 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively and advanced French, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, etc. It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree!

In case you haven't seen it, our G2G Question of the week is: If you've taken a DNA test, has it revealed any surprises?

Looking for some great ways to help out our collective effort? The Volunteers Needed page is the place to go!

Hi and welcome to WikiTree!

WikiTree is different from other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person. That means we will all share ancestors and work together as a collaborative team! The Honor Code helps keep everything functioning smoothly as we work on our SHARED tree.

You should have received an email with links you can use to get started. Once you confirm your email address, you'll have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree. Begin with tags for your own profile. Tags are surnames, locations, concepts, etc. in which you're interested.

When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add to the tree!

We're really glad you're here!
