We recently left a message on your profile to check in with the Profile Improvement Project (PIP). If you would like to continue with the Project, please let us know.
We would like to hear from you with any ideas or suggestions. If you do not wish to participate in the Project, please let us know. If we don’t hear from you within 14 days we will remove you from the Project, but we will welcome you back at any time.
I would like to continue with Biobuilders (PIP Project) - I would be interested in continuing to work on my own profiles in my family and also those that are orphaned and/or unsourced, as I do a lot of sourcing of unsourced profiles not related to my own family.
Forgot to mention, I would be interested in doing more unknowns later on maybe...I have done a few in the past - usually when I come across them during sourcing sprints etc.
The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in with project members. Please review the following and respond to let us know that you are content with your current team or if you would like to be more involved.
The Project operates in a team structure. There are currently three participant PIP Teams -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.
There are currently three different Biography Teams - The Biography Team, the Abandoned Team, and the Popular Team.
You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team. The Biography Team works on profiles from their watchlist and other profiles that interest them.
Are you happy with the Team you are on? If you are interested in working with a different Team, please let us know.
If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (You will need your Wiki ID for both). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.
We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.
Hi Michele! Thank you for your consistent improvement of WikiTree by participation in the Sourcerers Project during 2023!
Michelle (Curnick) Wilkes reached the Golden Achievement milestone by sourcing at least one profile in every month of the 2023 Sourcerers Project Sourcerers' Challenge.
Thank you for participating in past Thons as a member of the Toddlin' Tortoises. If you decide to participate again in January's upcoming Connect a Thon, the registration this time will be somewhat different. (You can read about it here.) We would love to have you join us again, but whatever team you decide to join will be lucky to have you!
Thank you for all the work that you have done for the Scotland Project. As you have not responded to our recent check in messages I presume that you wish to leave the project.
If you'd like to re-join us in the future, you can do so by replying to our current G2G Welcome post which is linked from the project page at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Scotland
It is once again time for our annual Scotland Project check-in. Please respond within the next three weeks to let us know:
•If you would like to continue as a project member •If you are happy with your current teams or would you like to join a different team •How much time per month (on average) you spend working on Scottish profiles •Anything you’d like the Scotland Project to do more of in the future
You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within the next three weeks we’ll assume your interests have changed or you are no longer able to participate in the Scotland Project at this time, and your badge will be removed. If your circumstances change later you will be welcome to reapply for membership.
On behalf of the Scotland Project, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve Scottish profiles!
Thanks so much for being part of the Toddlin' Tortoises Team for the April 2023 Source-a-Thon. Every source or citation verifying the information on a profile, helps make for a healthier Tree!
Thank you so much for signing up with the Toddlin' Tortoises in the January 2023 Connect-a-Thon. We may be slower than many, but we are all still winners!
Michelle (Curnick) Wilkes reached the Golden Achievement milestone by sourcing at least one profile in every month of the 2022 Sourcerers Project Sourcerers' Challenge.
We appreciate your consistent work in improving WikiTree through the Sourcerers Project in 2022!
Just a note to say how much it is appreciated that you signed up to participate in the Biobuilder Challenge for November 2022. I notice you used the word few in your comment, not sure I would call 42 profiles improved a few! Impressive number, great work.
If you want to track your work see the link on https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Biography_Builders Bob is in the process of updating this. If you have any suggestions for a challenge then please let Bob or Anne know.

Michelle, thanks so much for being part of the Toddlin' Tortoises Team for the July 2022 Connect-a-Thon. Every well-constructed profile added helps to grow a healthier Tree!
Hertyl and Spertyl just want to say: "What a Wonderful WikiTreer you are".
Michelle, Thanks so much for being part of the Toddlin' Tortoises Team for the 2nd 2022 Connect-a-Thon back in April. Every well-constructed profile added helps to grow a healthier Tree!
The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing its first annual check-in with our project members. We are in the process of transitioning to a team structure. There will be three participant PIP Teams to start -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team who guide new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team. Please let us know which team(s) you would like to participate in.
For those of you who joined the Project before the Voyage started in late 2018, we would like to invite you to consider a "fast track" Voyage, especially if you plan to join the Biography Team. If you’re interested, choose a profile that you have completed to the best of your ability and compare it to the Voyage Biography Standards. If you’re at Level 2 or better, include a link to the profile in your response to this check-in for a “fast track” review.
We would also like to invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (When you request to join our GoogleGroup, please be sure to include your Wiki ID). You will find more information on the GoogleGroup.
We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project and WikiTree. The Project’s mission is to:
Make profiles beautiful! We clean up messy biography sections and sources, and try to set standards for attractive, useful, and well-written biographies, starting with those we manage.
We know you’re working on profiles *smile* We would like to hear about successes you’ve had toward the Project’s goals. We would also appreciate any feedback you might have to help us improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or privately via private message to either of us.
Thanks Debi... I think I joined before 2018, I believe this profile https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Mitchell-16178 (which is one of my best so far) reaches level 2-3 in most parts, I will add more profiles that meet the criteria in other parts.
Thanks for getting back to us. We reviewed all three profiles and agree that you have Level 3 skills. There are a few things that Voyagers learn that you might be interested in that I will send via private message.
Do you have a preference which Biography Team Level you work at? Level 1 is for your own watchlist and whatever you run across. For Levels 2 & 3, we will direct you to some specific groups of profiles that need help.
Thanks for the feedback Debi. At the moment, I am working on 1) my own profiles that are either part of my own family, or connected to my family 2) profiles worked on during Saturday sourcing sprints/monthly sourcing challenges which are usually orphaned profiles, or profiles whose PM has not been active for years.
At the moment I am concentrating on profiles in my own watchlist which are "unconnected". So I will carry on with level 1 for the time being, as I still have a lot of profiles which need improving!
Thanks for the suggestions in the private email, I will work on those and also incorporate the suggestions into future profiles that I work on going forward.
It's time for our annual Scotland Project check-in!
This year we are hoping to learn what our membership would like to accomplish over the next 12 months. In case you aren't aware, this year is WikiTree's "Year of Connections" and the Project's leadership would like to contribute to this in as many ways as possible.
We would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts and ideas with us on how we can accomplish this goal. We would also appreciate it if you would provide some feedback on our existing goals, including:
If you have not yet signed up to help on one of the project's teams, which team(s) would you be interested in joining?
How often should we provide a Project Newsletter?
Have you participated in the Tartan Trail? If not, is this something you'd be interested in doing?
Do you have a question(s) that we could add to a Frequently Asked Questions page?
Any suggestions or ideas you have on ways to improve the Scotland Project in general
We continue to communicate with our Project members via Google Group (official) and Discord (unofficial), as well as G2G. You may also reach out to any of the Project leaders via WikiTree's internal messaging system at any time.
Thank you for all you do to help the Scotland Project become a knowledge hub for Scottish genealogical research! We wish you all the best in 2022!
Sincerely,
Amy Gilpin
on behalf of the Scotland Project Leaders
Thank you for your contributions to the December 2021 Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added to an unsourced profile improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your own family history to help others.

The United Kingdom Project has not been active since 2018 and we are now completely closing it down. We are removing all UK project badges. If you still have an interest in the UK and have not already joined another project, then you will need to join the England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales Project by answering one or more of their G2G posts. If your interest is in the British Isles and British Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories, then please contact me directly.
Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.
What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?
This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.
Michelle thank you so much for all your help regarding Elizabeth Pennifold etc. Even though you weren't well you still found the time to explain it all and then some . I am so grateful Susan Williams

I am new to this site for forgive me if I've got this wrong! I think you have a family link to to Henry Mark Shelley. I have an apparent DNA link through his descendant Walter John Shelley b 1883 but yet to verify. Any help gratefully received.
The Ambassadors project has been reorganizing and is looking for those who have a membership at a genealogical society, to help in spreading the word about WikiTree.
We're working on ways to improve how WikiTree connects and interacts with genealogical and local history societies. This is the kind of thing we want to do:
Liaise with societies: set up your local society with a free-space page and some WikiTree materials as part of a package.
Use social media to promote what societies are offering on WikiTree.
Encourage bloggers to blog about societies and the resources available to them on WikiTree.
Are you interested in participating in some way? Do you have some ideas to share?
As a member of the Scotland Project, we'd love to have you join the Twisted Thistles
in the upcoming Connect-a-thon the weekend of July 17 - July 20. If you'd like to join us and help to develop our ever-expanding Scottish tree, please register on the G2G post here

If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.
Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.
David ~ Volunteer Coordinator

On behalf of the Connectors Project Leaders, we are doing a six-month check-in with members. Please let us know if you are still active. If you are active, please let us know in which ways you are currently contributing to the project.
All of us at WikiTree would like to thank you for your contributions and hope that you are enjoying exploring your roots.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Just checking in to see if you are ok :)
It has been 3 weeks since I posted a message on your profile and I have not had any feedback from you.
If I don't hear from you by the weekend, I will presume you no longer wish to be involved in the England Project.
I will then go ahead and remove you from the project and remove the badge.
Hope to hear from you soon :)
Thanks,
Wendy Leader, England Project
