| Charlotte (Gardner) Heddle was a 1820 South African Settler Join: South African Roots Project Discuss: SOUTH_AFRICAN_ROOTS |
Charlotte m Lt Alexander Heddle (-1859), Royal African Corps, before 1828 - they were married when Mary Ann Currie met them, aged 13 in 1828. The two sisters who impressed Mary Ann so much, must have been Helen and Margaret.
It is assumed that Charlotte went to live with Lady Helen and Sir Walter Currie at Oatlands - she died there in 1865. Her scanty DN was signed by Walter - no children entered.
