Biography

Birth

Sara was born before, 3 Apr 1693, in Albany, Province of New York. She is the daughter of Willem Hilten Anna Berkhoven. She was the daughter of former garrison soldier William Hilton and his second wife, Anna Van Berkhoven Hilton. They raised a large family in a neighborhood on Albany's Southside.[1][2]

Marriage

Albany weaver Johannes van Zandt and Sara Hilten were married, 20 May 1718, in the Albany Dutch Reformed Church, New York. 1718 "May 20. With B. Joannes Van Zanten and Sara Kiltens. [4] [2]
By 1738, eleven children had been christened at the Albany Dutch church where she was an occasional baptism sponsor. Like both sets of their parents, these Van Zandts were first ward mainstays. However, their marriage lasted only twenty five years.

Sara Hilton Van Zandt died at age fifty in the Fall of 1743. She was buried from her church on October 1. Her husband survived for another two decades. 1743, 9/6; wife of Van Zante, Johannes; church yard [17]

Hilton-2123 and Hilten-7 appear to represent the same person because: Hello, all sources point to these being the same person. Merging into Hilten as that's that name she was baptized under.
