Hello Derrick:

Re Helen Virginia (Kinsman-2664) Keefe daughter of Nellie June (Lyon-4234) Kinsman - Over time I have searched the Lyon family related to a claim of a Native American marriage with one of the Lyon grandfathers. There appears to be no DNA or evidence of this claim in the immediate Lyon family. The history of Wakeman Lyon-7764 remains unclear as to marriages and children. The line is through Wakeman’s father Walter to son Burr, to son William, to daughter Flora (Lyon-7755) Ward, to Helen (Ward-38234) Osborne, originator of the claim. I am continuing to try to obtain information relating to this question. The expanded tree is on ancestry.com, user name annecwhite2003. Any comment or assistance with this family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Anne White

Hi Derrick

I stumbled across the profiles that you created for Josiah Perrow (1879-1921) and his family. His second wife, Minna (Hansen) Perrow (1881-1954), was a cousin of my wife.

I hope you don’t mind that I have proposed a merge of the two profiles for Josiah and I have also taken the liberty of adding some associated Perrow profiles for various descendants and relatives here in Australia. They are mainly in Victoria, around Bendigo, but at least one branch seems to extend into New South Wales.

Please let me know if I can assist further.

Cheers

Thanks for this Susie, what an excellent piece of work you've done. I've taken some of the pieces from the space page and added it to their profiles and also added a link to your page. Given the locations, the Lilian from Preston is marginally more likely, but not really enough difference to make it certain.

The comment including the 1723 date was not added by me but by Susan Squires-2652 on 18 Dec.

I agree with you that it is most likely a typo, but I'd check with her.

I think if you actually look at her profile you'll find she is still married to Robert Parker (profile manger=you), just not to the second Robert Parker who died in 1734, before she was born. The parish register for Colkirk with Oxwick states that the Robert who was buried there 17 May 1734 was the son of Nicholas and Lydia - exactly as stated on the profile of Parker-4480, on which profile you yourself added a note stating that he was not the one who married Ann Meck.

And yes, I do do research before I make changes.

If you check the changes I made, they were to move the children from the impossible Robert Parker (infant death) to the possible one, and to disconnect the impossible one from the obviously impossible marriage.

I don't think that gedcoms can prove you wrong. Some extra sourcing might do so, but a gedcom import is just someone elses' opinion unless properly sourced.

I don't assert that Parker-47247 is the "correct" father. The word I used above was "possible", as opposed to to the impossibility of Parker-44880 (the infant death) being father of these children which was YOUR assertion.

The lack of a child named Nicholas is only possibly relevant if I were asserting that Parker-4480 was the father of these children - he's the one from whom I moved them.

I cannot remove your name from these profiles, that is not in my gift, only you can do that.

Dear Derrick, Thanks for updating the profile of Robert Pallant, my great-grandfather, I've had autosomal and mtchondrial DNA tests, so if you are also related to Robert we should have a DNA match. I don't see a match to me on your profile; not sure how it works. My father was George Evelyn Pallant Sidaway, He added "Evelyn" himself after an uncle who died quite young, I think - George Evelyn Pallant. My father's mother's maiden name was Sarah Edith Pallant. Her married name was Sidaway, Sarah's father was Robert Pallant who moved to Stockton and became a blacksmith. My father and his three siblings all had Pallant in their names and it was also passed on to me and my siblings. I wonder if you know about the generations before Robert Pallant. I think possibly his father was from Aldborough and was a seafarer (from Family Search) but I'm not sure if this was my ancestor or not. Anyway, maybe we are distant cousins!

Best wishes, Judith Christine Pallant Brooksbank (born Sidaway)

Judith,

Not related I'm sorry to say. The update was purely in response to a minor error that the system had picked up.
