Hi Virginia,

It is once again time for our annual Scotland Project check-in. Please respond within the next three weeks to let us know:

•If you would like to continue as a project member •If you are happy with your current teams or would you like to join a different team •How much time per month (on average) you spend working on Scottish profiles •Anything you’d like the Scotland Project to do more of in the future

You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within the next three weeks we’ll assume your interests have changed or you are no longer able to participate in the Scotland Project at this time, and your badge will be removed. If your circumstances change later you will be welcome to reapply for membership.

On behalf of the Scotland Project, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve Scottish profiles!

Sheena - Scotland Project Membership Coordinator

Virginia, I want to thank you for your work on the Forsyths of Elgin and for transferring those to me. Although not related I am the Clan Forsyth Society USA genealogist and newsletter editor. Some great information was found on this family and some great stories for our Clan Forsyth Society USA newsletter, One of our members has already written the first of several articles for our October newsletter.
Hi Virginia,

It’s time for our annual Ireland Project check-in! Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:

  • If you are happy with the team you’re on or if you’d like to make a change. It is now required that all members with an Ireland project badge work on at least one of the project’s team(s), so if you’ve not yet signed up please do so in your reply to this check-in.
  • What you think the project is doing well, and what (if any) changes you would like to see us make? Are there any teams you would like to become more active in?
  • Would you be interested in helping to work on an Ireland Project newsletter?
  • Please give us some feedback on the use of google group and discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way for us to ensure you receive project communications? If you would like to join us on either one, just let us know in your response and we will get you signed up.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating in the Ireland Project, and your badge will be removed. If you wish to reapply for membership later, we will be happy to have you back. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Jen Hutton, on behalf of the Ireland Project

I am the great granddaughter of Alonzo Stanley Allen. I notice on his profile no spouse or children are listed. Alonzo married Julia Estelle Roberts and they had three children: Cleo, Oma Inez and Bernice Valerie. Oma was my grandmother.

Hello Jackie, I am aware of all of their children. I knew them all. My mother, Catherine Allen, loved her cousins and kept in touch with them. Uncle Lonzo lived down the street from us in the Heights. I remember going to their house when I was 7 or 8. I loved their house. The furniture was so nice. My Uncle Cara and his bride stayed with them for a brief time after he returned from WWII. I will add Cleo, Oma, and the wild and wonderful Bernice during the Connect-a-thon next weekend. Are you in contact with Cleo's daughter Pat? If so,tell her Ginger said hi.

Hi Virginia

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a project is encouraged for editing Pre-1700 profiles.

It looks like Ohio or Texas projects might be for you, based on some of your contributions. The leader is Alison Andrus to request a badge.

Please visit the projects to learn how to join, and after joining, please add a project tag to your page to receive project activity updates and discussions.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Hi there! My name is Vicky (Freeth) Majewski and I am a WikiTree Mentor.

Feel free to contact me via my profile page. I am happy to help!

Hello Again,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

I want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS Good work so far! Have you noticed on your ancestor profiles on bottom right is "Research" where you can get sources and more information? Give it a try!

Hi there, Virginia! We are delighted to welcome you to the WikiTree community!

You have been confirmed as a full member. Please start with our New Member How-To pages. They will save you time and energy as you add profiles.

If the links in emails don't work correctly, check the public comments on your profile as the links will work from there.

If you have any questions, please ask as I am always happy to help!

Deb ~ WikiTree Greeter

P. S. I see that you are following the Allen surname tags. By clicking on the tags you follow, you can see which other members share your interests. You never know, you may find a long-lost cousin!
